As you can see, I've crammed about as much on an Ashford bobbin as is possible. That's about 5.5 to 6 ounces. The second bobbin will have the other 2.5 to 3 ounces I've got left of the dark roving before I start the next shade. The idea is that when I finally ply, there will be a section that is one singles of the dark roving and one singles of the medium roving. That way, when I start knitting, I'll have sections between each shade that are blends, hopefully making a smoother transition between one shade to the next. That's the theory I'm working with in my head anyway. It should work. I just need to label each bobbin so I ply the right ones together.
While I was nuking my lunch today, one of the guys in the breakroom was watching a video on Youtube. It was an amazing guitar duo who just blew me away: Rodrigo y Gabriella. Give them a look and you'll understand. The sound they produce is so infectious, I find it next to impossible to sit still while listening. They have a new CD out, among some older ones, that I'll be adding to my music collection. I'm always looking for new music and new authors. These two are keepers.
More blueberries this weekend. Last week was the beginning of the season and the picking was pretty light. Saturday I'm picking up my new skeiner and hanging out at the Spinning Loft for a couple of hours. I should make good progress on spinning for my shawl.
They are wonderful! I'm listening right now.
You're really making that roving come to life--it shines like it's soaking wet on the bobbin!
