I finally finished spinning the Merino/silk/bamboo and started plying.  This is the first 8 ounces. 

Neither of these pictures represents the true color, although the top one is closest, which tells me I REALLY need to find a photography class and find the time to take it.

 

I was finally able to make our camping reservations for the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival today.  Maryland's camping reservation website was changing to a new platform and for at least three weeks, the "inventory" (campsites) for Patapsco Valley State Park were unavailable.  I have two friends joining me this time:  Jessica and Sheri.  We're driving there Thursday the 29th and returning Monday May 4th.  I'm hoping for no rain this year.

This is what I did all weekend

 

Except for going to my brother's for Easter and some errands Saturday morning, I cut, ironed, stitched together and sewed on buttons all weekend.  I took today off and I have to say, it was wonderful.  It's beautiful outside and I just felt relaxed and happy all day.  I haven't felt that in a long time.  (I treated myself to "Clash of the Titans" at the theater.)  It's on days like today that it seems that dreams can come true.  You're probably all tired of hearing about it, but all I want is a place in the country with a few acres where I can plant a big garden and an orchard, raise chickens and maybe a pig or two and work for myself making beautiful things that make other people happy.  That's the dream.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get there although my boxes are a start.
